KIM DINSMOOR, Artistic Director

Artistic Director Kim Dinsmoor has enjoyed the privilege of dancing and teaching professionally throughout the greater Seattle area. She has been a member of Pacific Northwest Ballet, Olympic Ballet Theater and Ballet Petit now known as Ballet Bellevue.

Her Philosophy includes teaching excellent body mechanics for dancer safety, that music and movement is vital to children's development, and that the love of teaching is paramount to the success of the school and the children's training.

AnA Noelle, Instructor

Ana Noelle is a classically trained performer, teacher and choreographer that has had the privilege to experience dance throughout the US and Canada. Beginning her training at age 4, Ana stuck to dance like jet glue, always learning and ‘being the student’ to better herself as a dancer, teacher and professional. Starting her training in Wilmington, DE under Anna Marie Leo, Ana trained vigorously in all disciplines of dance with a core focus in Classical Ballet and attended intensives and pre-professional programs such as; First State Ballet, Kirov Ballet, Kaatsbaan Ballet, and Toronto Dance Theatre. Along with these programs, Ana took her talents to compete in YAGP, Dance Excellence and IBC. Ana completed her BFA degree in Dance with a concentration in Classical Ballet at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, a renowned program that has been the home of many brilliant dancers. Ana performed repertoire under Troy Powell of Alvin Ailey, the YC, Toronto Dance Theatre, Alice Gosti, Roni Mahler, and more. Throughout her time training and performing, Ana Noelle’s passions to choreograph grew strong and fast. She has had the pleasure of setting pieces on many dance schools and pre-professional programs on the East and West coast. Ana has joined DWS again after working under Kim Dinsmoor from 2017-2020, she is thrilled to be back 4 years later to train the wonderful aspiring dancers in the Seattle community. Ana is honored to shed her knowledge and training on the future dancers of today, “any passion that you have is something to be cherished”.

DEAN SPEER, Instructor

Dean Speer has been a dancer, dance teacher, choreographer, producer, director, singer (baritone) and writer. He was the founding director of Chehalis Ballet Center in Washington state and is former artistic director of the Chattanooga Ballet in Tennessee.

His dance training and experiences in the arts have taken him many places - geographic and otherwise: Cannes, Paris, New York, Chicago, Mossyrock, and Pe Ell. He is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts.

Many of his students have gone on to continue their professional training around the globe, and are enjoying amazing careers.

Mr. Speer is also the author of On Technique, University Press of Florida. All students and their families should get their own copy of this inspiring book, also available through Amazon.com. Mr. Speer will happily autograph it especially for you.

RANDALL PLUT, Accompanist

Randall Plut has been the pianist and composer-in-residence for Dance! West Seattle since 1996 and an employee of the Pacific Northwest Ballet.

Mr. Plut has accompanied ballet classes and composed music for numerous other dance venues, including Martha Nishitani School of Modern Dance, Dorothy Fisher Ballet School, Pacific Regional Ballet Festival, Chicago Dance Academy, British Dancing Academy, Ballet Cascadia, Nebraska Dance Camp, Evergreen City Ballet and Northwest Dance Intensive.  Mr. Plut was a performing member, for over four years, of a night club act in Chicago called "Jan Hobson and her Bad Review."

Since 2000, he has been the pianist for the University of Washington School of Law graduation ceremonies. He has also been the pianist and music director for numerous theatrical productions, including My Fair Lady, Bells are Ringing, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Grease.  Mr. Plut received training in musical composition from the late Dr. Gregory Short, over a period of twenty years.  Mr. Plut has had several original compositions performed by symphony orchestras.  He is also the composer of a musical comedy, My Sweet Candy, which received three performances in 1987 at the Carco Theater in Renton, Washington.

Mr. Plut has performed numerous piano recitals and in 1977 he performed the piano part in the Beethoven "Emperor" Concerto with the Thalia Symphony in Seattle.
